Adam Goodie, University of Georgia – This text goes above and beyond in encouraging readers to think about the material in as many ways as possible, from as many perspectives as possible, each reader with as much originality as possible.
Tonya Nascimento, University of West Florida -- Wow. I am impressed with all the supplemental and immersive material. Due to my creative writing background and the freshmen level of the students (i.e., new to the field and not necessarily planning to pursue it), I like the "other voices" idea. I also think the emphasis on interpreting data through "data visualizations" is important because this ability is often needed in later courses and perhaps not taught as a foundation. The emphasis on prep for the MCAT can motivate a portion of students who may not have thought of that. I do not use APA outcomes, but I appreciate the scaffolding built into the text. I do emphasize practical application, so that aspect is especially appealing.
Evan Jordan, Oklahoma State University -- I really like the inclusions of "Hot Science" and "A World of Difference" [features]. Extra research presented in a meaningful way where the students know how this psychological study/concept is actually affecting something specific in the real world is extremely important.
